During the workshop, we will take you through the step-by-step process to make challah. Although braiding and baking won't take place on Zoom, we'll give you full instructions and resources to do so on your own, as well as the opportunity to ask questions.
This event is taking the place of our usual fundraiser of selling loaves of challah. Therefore, it is requested that participants (as they are able) to make a donation through the Challah for Hunger Classy page. The recommended donation amount is $5 per person. All of the funds collected through this page will be donated in our national fundraising pool, which means that 47.5% will go to Swipe Out Hunger, 47.5% will go to local partner organizations, and 5% will go to the chapter investment fund. Before we start the workshop, we’ll play a Kahoot to learn a bit about food insecurity. Besides those aspects of fundraising and advocacy education, this is also a community event. If you want to participate, but are unable to buy ingredients, there is a section on the registration to note that. We want everyone who wants to join us to be able to! |
