Food InsecurityFood-insecure people experience more than hunger - they have limited or uncertain access to enough food for an active, healthy lifestyle. They don’t know where their next meal is coming from and don’t have the necessary resources, time, or money to afford and access food.
The stereotype that college students gain the “freshman 15” by eating ramen to save money for partying, don’t take into account the realities of higher education today. Tuition and college fees have risen faster than the median income, forcing more students to choose between books, rent, and food. |
